Julia is a Neurofeedback Technician with the Stradwick Psychology and Neurofeedback Clinic. She completed her undergraduate degree in honours Psychology with a concentration in Health Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience at Carleton University in 2021. Her undergraduate thesis examined cognitive differences in attention to novelty between high and low sensation seekers measured via electroencephalogram (EEG). She has also contributed to research at Ottawa’s Royal Institute of Mental Health Research (IMHR) examining the efficacy of exercise as a non-medication-based treatment for depression. Julia also has experience as a traumatic brain injury (TBI) counsellor and therefore has particularly developed expertise in dealing with clients with concussions as presenting concerns and has worked closely with individuals with substance use disorder and depression.

Julia is currently pursuing her graduate studies in Clinical Psychology with the goal of becoming a Clinical Psychologist and hopes to contribute to research regarding developing sustainable behaviour change techniques which can be applied to a variety of mental health concerns. She highly values building strong rapport with clients and works to create a positive, professional, and compassionate safe space in her sessions while taking into consideration the individual differences, goals, and treatment protocols unique to each client.
