Dr. Laura S. Stradwick

Dr. Stradwick is director of Stradwick Psychology & Neurofeedback Clinic. She is a licensed clinical psychologist, registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Dr. Stradwick is board certified in Neurofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance (BCIA). She is also a member of the Canadian Psychological Association, the National Register of Health Service Psychologists, and the Association for Applied Psychophysiology & Biofeedback. Dr. Stradwick received both her Master’s and Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, in London, Ontario.

Dr. Stradwick has specialized post-doctoral training in health psychology, including management of chronic pain and illness, pre-surgical evaluation, biofeedback training, health habit training, and stress management. She has worked in a variety of different clinical settings, including a hospital system, pain clinic, and an outpatient mental health center working with clients of all ages. Dr. Stradwick received additional supervised training in Neurofeedback (EEG Biofeedback) at the Ottawa Neurofeedback Centre.

Dr. Stradwick provides psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing a wide range of presenting concerns. Areas of specialty include ADHD, depression, anxiety, adjustment/life transition-related difficulties, interpersonal problems, emotional dysregulation, grief and loss, developmental trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), concussion/traumatic brain injury, and chronic pain/illness. She offers a full range of psychological services in addition to Neurofeedback training. These services include individual psychotherapy, psychological assessment (i.e. psychoeducational, psychodiagnostic), and psychophysiological-based interventions, such as biofeedback training.

Dr. Stradwick’s therapeutic approach with clients is integrative. She emphasizes client collaboration in order to address presenting symptoms and individualized goals for treatment. She utilizes an attachment-based, client-centered framework to provide an emotionally safe and compassionate environment for building trust and therapeutic rapport. Dr. Stradwick’s therapeutic interventions are further informed by evidence-based practice. Interventions may include, neurofeedback, biofeedback, cognitive behavioural (CBT), psychodynamic, interpersonal, and trauma-focused techniques. These techniques assist each client in developing greater self-awareness as well as to facilitate self-regulation, psychological resilience, and personal growth.
