Patrice Yazdanyar is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at the Stradwick Psychology & Neurofeedback Clinic. Patrice works with adolescents (12+), adults, couples, and families. He supports clients navigating anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, emotional regulation, relationship and family difficulties, identity, life transitions, and challenges related to neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism.
Patrice believes that therapy works best when people feel genuinely understood rather than reduced to a diagnosis or set of symptoms. His approach is collaborative, curious, and tailored to the person, couple, or family in front of him. He works from an integrative perspective, drawing from emotion-focused, systemic, psychodynamic, narrative, cognitive behavioural, and trauma-informed approaches. His background in couples and family therapy also means that he pays close attention to relationships, attachment, family experiences, culture, and the environments that shape how people understand themselves and relate to others. He uses the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy to help partners understand their patterns, rebuild connection and more.
In his work with adolescents and young adults, Patrice aims to create a space where clients can speak openly without feeling judged or pressured. He has a particular interest in supporting young people with emotional regulation, anxiety, identity, relationships, self-esteem, motivation, and neurodivergence. When appropriate, he works collaboratively with parents and families to better understand patterns at home and strengthen communication and connection.
With couples, Patrice helps partners move beyond the surface content of recurring arguments to understand the patterns that keep them feeling stuck or disconnected. His couples work is informed by Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), the Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy (PACT), the Gottman Method, and systemic approaches. He supports couples in strengthening communication, understanding underlying emotional and attachment needs, rebuilding connection, and developing healthier ways of navigating conflict.
Patrice holds an Honours BA in Psychology from the University of Ottawa and an MA in Counselling and Spirituality from Saint Paul University, where he specialised in Couples and Family Therapy. His background also includes psychological research and psychometric assessment, giving him additional experience working with neurodivergence, learning differences, and psychological assessment.
