Kate Cochrane

Kate is a Clinical Social Worker at the Stradwick Psychology & Neurofeedback Clinic. She is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Kate completed her BSW and MSW at Carleton University. Kate has extensive experience working with youth, young adults, and their families, with a focus on empowering them in their mental health journeys. She creates an open, safe, and collaborative environment during sessions, fostering youth independence and offering interventions to reduce mental health stigma while promoting healthy coping strategies. Her background includes working with “for youth-by-youth” mental health organizations, where she helped build youth mental health awareness and involved young people in decisions about their mental health. Kate is dedicated to continuing this collaborative practice to facilitate impactful changes in individuals’ lives.
Kate’s area of focus includes working with the following: Youth, teens, young adults, family counselling and parent coaching, conflict resolution, coping skills, self-regulation, stress management.
Kate has training and practical experience in the following areas: Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred Approaching, Crisis Intervention, and Motivational Interviewing.
